| | It works great in the camera, but when I put it in my laptop to download the pictures, it tells me I have to format it. I don't know why, but it is annoying. SO I have a bunch of pictures that I cannot download to my computer.

I wouldn't be concerned about relative data transfer times and all the other esoteric stuff some people labor over. You'll really never notice any difference between this unit and a "high performance" brand (unless you have that kind of time on your hands).
